Clear Polycarbonate Sheet (Lexan) | Cut to Size, Chicago

Polycarbonate is the sheet you buy when acrylic isn't tough enough. It's roughly 250 times more impact-resistant than glass and about 30 times more than acrylic, so it's the standard for machine guards, safety glazing, equipment covers, and anything that gets hit. It machines well, can be heat bent, drills without cracking, and its edges can be chemically polished.

It's not as scratch-resistant as acrylic. It yellows outdoors unless you buy a UV-stabilized grade (contact us for options to make sure it works for what you need), and it cannot be laser cut. Stocked in 1/16" through 1/2" as a full 48" × 96" sheet or precut; precuts ship UPS, full sheets are pickup or local delivery.

Precuts (up to 48″ × 48″) ship UPS anywhere in the US; live UPS rates show at checkout.

Full 48″ × 96″ sheets are local delivery or pickup only. Local delivery is $40 per order within 15 miles of our shop, plus $40 when the order includes a full sheet. Pickup is free, Mon–Fri 9–4 at 2929 N. Pulaski Rd, Chicago.

Most orders are ready in 2–3 business days.

Thickness & cut tolerances

Acrylic and polycarbonate are made in metric thicknesses, so a nominal 1/8″ sheet is about 3 mm — all thicknesses shown are nominal. Cut size tolerance is ±1/8″. Need a tighter tolerance or a size we don't list? Request a quote.
