I'm ordering for a tax-exempt organization. What do I do?

Create an account with us, then email your tax-exempt paperwork to websales@petersenplastics.com. Once we've verified your organization we'll update your account, so be sure to check out with the same email address.

Is this your main website?

This is our online store for sheet stock and cleaning products. Our main site, petersenplastics.com, covers custom signage, acrylic fabrication, and our full material distribution catalog. Need something fabricated, machined, or cut to an odd size? Request a quote there.

How long have you been in business?

Petersen Brothers Plastics was established in 1943. We're a third-generation, family-run shop and Chicago's oldest plastic fabricator and distributor, still at 2929 N. Pulaski Road.

What sizes can I order?

Every sheet product is sold as a full 48″ × 96″ sheet (a few 1/16″ whites come as 48″ × 72″) or as a precut piece: 48″ × 48″, 24″ × 48″, 24″ × 24″, 18″ × 32″, 12″ × 24″, or 12″ × 12″. Pick the material and thickness first, then the size — each combination is priced individually. Cut size tolerance is ±1/8″. Need a size we don't list? Ask for a quote.

Why is my 1/8″ sheet slightly thinner than 1/8″?

Acrylic and polycarbonate are manufactured in metric thicknesses, so a nominal 1/8″ sheet is actually about 3 mm. All thicknesses on this site are nominal.

Do you ship?

Yes. Precut pieces up to 48″ × 48″ ship UPS anywhere in the United States, and you'll see live UPS rates at checkout based on the size and weight of your order. Full sheets (48″ × 96″ and 48″ × 72″) can't go by UPS — they're available for in-store pickup or local delivery only.

How does local delivery work?

We deliver within 15 miles of our shop for a flat $40 per order. Orders that include a full sheet carry an additional $40 full-sheet delivery charge, which you'll choose in your cart. Outside the 15-mile area, full sheets are pickup only.

Can I pick up my order?

Absolutely, and pickup is free. Choose "Pick up" at checkout and we'll email you when your order is ready. Pickup hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM at 2929 N. Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60641. Questions? Call (773) 286-5666.

How long will my order take?

Most orders are ready the same day or within 2 business days; larger orders may take a day or two longer. If your order will take longer than that for any reason, we'll contact you right away.

Do you offer quantity or wholesale pricing?

Yes. If you're buying multiples of a size, or ordering for a business on a regular basis, send us a quote request or email websales@petersenplastics.com and a sales rep will follow up with pricing.

What if there's a problem with my order?

We'll make it right. Look your order over when you get it and let us know about any problem within 3 days of delivery or pickup, by emailing websales@petersenplastics.com or calling (773) 286-5666 with your order number and a photo or two. After 3 days we can't file a claim with the carrier, which makes it a lot harder to help. See our returns and problems page for the details.

Do you fabricate?

We do — laser cutting, CNC machining, UV printing, edge polishing, custom boxes, displays and signage, all in the same building as the material you're buying. Head to petersenplastics.com to see our fabrication and signage work and request a quote.
